MONEYBAGS Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo admitted yesterday he has not been out shopping for three years.
Despite banking £120,000 a week, the winger claims his worldwide fame has turned him into a High Street hermit.
Ronaldo, 23, confesses he has bought all his Christmas presents and trendy fashion gear online.
He even ordered jewellery and romantic gifts for his Ukrainian girlfriend Alyona Haynes, 25, on his home computer. The Portuguese international told telly viewers in Croatia: “I haven’t been shopping for three years.
“I buy on the internet. I miss shopping, but I simply can’t go myself as I’m in the media so much. It would not be possible to shop.”
Ronaldo said he is desperate to spend as much time with his family as possible this Christmas.
“I miss my family in Portugal, so a Christmas with my family will be the best present. I do not have much time to be with them throughout the year.”
And the player, who admitted he “would like to be a husband and a father one day”, told how he dresses up as Santa to thrill his young nieces and nephews.
He revealed: “Tradition is the rule and Santa Claus is obliged to stop at my house.
“A little while before midnight on the evening of the 24th I sneak out of the room, go up to my bedroom and stuff a few pillows around my abdomen to get that belly.
“I put on the red suit and the huge white beard, then I throw the sack with the presents over my shoulder and leave the house.
“I yell ‘Ho, ho, ho! are there any kids in this house?’
“They get so excited, joyful as only children can be.”

E il giocatore ha ammesso che "gradirebbe essere un marito ed un padre un giorno", e ha raccontato che si veste da Babbo Natale per entusiasmare i suoi piccoli nipoti. Ha detto: "La "tradizione è la regola e Santa Claus è obbligato a fermarsi a casa mia."
"Un pò prima di mezzanotte la sera dei 24 striscio fuori della stanza, salgo nella mia camera da letto e riempio alcuni cuscini per il mio addome per avere la pancia. Prendo l'abito rosso e la barba bianca ed enorme, poi getto il sacco coi regali sulla mia spalla e lascio la casa. Io grido 'Ho, ho, ho! ci sono bambini in questa casa? Loro diventano così eccitati, gioiosi come solamente i bambini possono essere." |
